She rambled on and on at some points in life. So it was ok to hear someone else do it for a change. She held nothing but a small grin on her face as he answered her 'question'. Though she hadn't really intended for him to answer, it had been a joking question, one that could start up another subject. It was one of those, though he answered and started on something else, that was what she had been hoping for after all.
Alisa made a shape with her mouth, resembling something sort of like an 'o'. That would take a to many years to remember, even for her. It took him four or five years? It would take her longer! Her smile came back, and she laughed again. She waved the hand with the CD in it, and the other one slid in her pocket. "Life's not exciting. At least i wouldn't say it was. Seems more dull now."

Daiki couldn't help but chuckle at her face. That whole 'o' thing was pretty hilarious. But when she answered his question he expected more from her. Daiki was a bit disappointed. He watched her wave her hand and noticed that she was holding a CD. He gave her a smile and asked, "So what do you have there in that hand of yours? A CD is what it looks like."
Daiki shifted his weight and moved the basket to his other hand and let the one that was holding it relax. He felt a vibration in his pocket and a ring tone occurred. Daiki took out his phone and looked at the screen, it was his mother. He put is finger up in the air and said to Alisa, "One moment."
He pressed the answer call and said, "Hello, okaa-san(mother)." And soon Daiki held the phone out a ways for his mother was being awfully loud on her end. She was yelling at him in Japanese wondering where he was with the food and that class was about to begin. After she finished, Daiki answered back in Japanese and turned off the phone. He then looked back to Alisa.
He put the phone back in his pocket and in return found a business card. He held in his hand and said to her first, "Sorry but it looks like I have to go," Daiki paused and handed her the card, "Call me sometime or visit the school, I'd like to hear what CD that is." He gave her a smile and a wink then ran for the check-out line. Daiki checked out and left for work.
